Forty Years Course

Among the many important books, which are the books on the resistance of the Greek people against the foreign invaders and their collaborators, the testimony of Dinos Rozakis holds a special place. The book is a personal but at the same time national contribution of a fighter who with complete honesty composes his story and recounts his life, connected to the struggle of an entire nation, a people that in its vast majority almost in its entirety, rose up to expel the conquerors and at the same time to punish the traitors. Through his personal adventure, the author highlights the events of the decade 1940-1949, ten years of glory and blood, ten years of endurance and persecution, admiration and contempt for life and death, ten years of poverty and patience, ten years of heroism and forgetfulness, ten years of unity for freedom and terrible discord. With the end of this decade and the withdrawal of the Democratic Army from Greece, Dinos Rozakis faces a new unexpected situation. It is hosted in the hospitable country of the Soviets for our guerrillas, and in particular in Tashkent. He describes his life there with objectivity, honesty and liveliness that impresses and helps the reader to see the events of the refugee but mainly what had preceded him in the years of the GREAT DECADE, with a clear eye and heart to judge this period, which like this one does not exist.
